The future and success of our youth is intimately tied with various socio-economic and environmental factors. These factors will either propel them on a trajectory for success or present them with challenges and roadblocks in which they must overcome. Having a unique understanding of this complexity of influences, the O.E. & Martha Fortson Family has established a mechanism to support the youth within our family. These individuals should promote scholarship, academic prowess and exemplary leadership within their communities. This scholarship is intended to recognize a member of our family who exemplifies the same level of promotion of higher education and learning through leadership and scholarship.
O.E. & Martha Fortson Undergraduate/Graduate Scholarship Requirements:
· Must be a direct descendent of Kato and Mary Gary.
· Enrolled or accepted at any full-time at any two or four-year accredited institution
· Minimum GPA of 3.0
· Note: one time scholarship award per enrollee.
To complete your application, please submit the following supporting documents:
· Most recent transcript (official or unofficial).
· Recent Enrollment Verification Letter validating current enrollment (Four-Year Degree College - Undergraduate/Graduate)
Application Deadline: 7/19/2025
Amount: Varies (~ target $500 but depends on pool of money and applicants)
